Documenter of Life

At any given time, if you look into my massive shoulder bag/purse, you will find:

  1. A calendar/planner
  2. An art journal/sketchbook, and
  3. A diary or notebook of some sort

I always have these vital things with me as I attempt to keep track of my crazy schedule and document my life at the same time.  Whenever I try to downsize and carry a cute little clutch or stylish pocketbook, I am always missing one or more of those crucial items!  Inevitably there will be something scenic I want to sketch; some important event I need to write down, or a momentous idea that must be preserved on paper.

In my pursuit of finding the “perfect” calendar/journal I realized that it just didn’t exist, so I decided to create my own!  I combined all three books into one and have the ultimate journal that I can’t wait to open everyday and fill full of schedules and paintings and lists. I created it to suit my crazy, art-filled, hectic life!

I have my weekly view calendar . . .

I have my journaling pages . . .

And I have plenty of paper to sketch, paint, doodle or list make!

Do you NEED one too?  You can get one in my Etsy shop here!

Each journal has been created using an authentic, Moleskine soft-cover day planner and has been altered and hand-painted. Fold-out pages have been added with using 90lb watercolor paper and luscious washi tape to make a beautiful, chunky, unique journal all ready for you to begin documenting your life . . . just in time for 2014!  Don’t want a painted cover ? I also offer them in classic black.  Each journal has 52 watercolor fold-out pages, 12 laminated monthly tabs, a metal clip, and an elastic closure to keep it all together! All journals are one of a kind and can be customized with your favorite color palette.  Plain journals (with no calendar) are also available.

Life should be documented . . . not only the BIG milestones, but the also the little moments – they are all worth remembering.

Watch for more inspiration and some exciting news about these journals and documenting your creative life!

I love your journals. I actually just finished making one myself very similar to yours! So much fun. I didn't know you could paint the covers? It doesn't come off? Is there something you have to paint on the cover first to make it stick and not peel off? Your books and work is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

December 21, 2013 | Unregistered Commenterkimmie

I picked up a moleskine journal a couple weeks ago and have been adding washi edging. I'm so excited for this project and will be following along! Next I want to add the extra watercolor paper pages and then I'll be ready to start! I have been wanting to start art journaling and just haven't known how to start. I watch videos and read blogs and love everyone's work. I think this will be a good way to begin. I love documenting and in dire need of a planner as well. While I love my iphone, it's not my favorite way to keep notes, reminders, appts, etc. Did I mention I was excited, lol?!

December 22, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterBrenda

are you going to make more of these? I really like it and missed the chance to get one. or maybe can you do tutorials on how to one instead. I really like to make one.

As a creative SAHM with OCD and ADD, I have AGONIZED over which direction to pour my Heart & Soul!!! With all of these "Mommy-Blogger-Trends" making Home Management Binders, Life Planners, Art Journals, Diaries and more; YOUR IDEA is the CLOSEST ONE TO FIT MY NEUROTIC TENDANCIES (Yes, thats a huge compliment - just in case you're wondering...)

ANYWAY...... I already loaded up my self-printed pages into a large binder to include my Schedule, All things (Meg) stuff, Household information - including vet records and size charts for the kids.... Daily Thoughts, Bible Study, Meal Planning, Pantry and Appliance Inventory to NOW INCLUDE my Sketches, Pics, Zentangles - AKA - ART JOURNAL!!!! Am I missing anything else??? Where else can I book a Pap Smear, make a grocery list for Papst Beer and ModgePodge the receipts for BOTH under layers of Stencils, Stamps and Gesso!?!?!?! But I digress!!!

I humbly THANK YOU - for the Beautiful Inspiration and I am SO HAPPY to have saved your links and subscribed for the opportunity to learn some of your many talents and skills!!!! 👍🏻😊
